Cher’s New Single, “Walls,” Is A Sly Dig At Donald Trump

"I just want to see these walls crashing down.”

It’s always a cause for celebration when Cher releases new music. But when its a soulful ballad that subtly knocks President Trump, it’s doubly amazing.

The Dark Lady premiered “Walls” over the weekend at the One Young World Festival in Bogota.

“Hope, look at this life, we built it all,” she sings. “I just want to see these walls crashing down.”

While its ostensibly about emotional barriers, it’s also a dig at Trump’s favorite pet project—a wall along the U.S./Mexican border. Cher has been outspoken about her distaste for Trump since well before the election, often dragging him on Twitter.

“Walls” will be released as a single, with proceeds benefiting Free The Wild, Cher’s animal-welfare foundation.
