ICYMI, execs at Chick-fil-A are still the absolute worst—and actually increased their year-to-year donations to anti-LGBTQ groups between 2016 and 2017.

According to Think Progress, the fast food chain donated some $1.8 million in 2017 three groups—the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Paul Anderson Youth Home, and the Salvation Army—with notoriously anti-LGBTQ policies and histories.

That's a slight uptick from 2016, contradicting previous claims from execs that Chick-fil-A was planning to decrease #problematic donations.

While Chick-fil-A doesn't have any policies in place that explicitly discriminate against queer employees or patrons, the company's homophobic track record is well-documented. High-level execs have spoken out against marriage equality in the past.

As recently as this January, the company sparked controversy in New York City when it began to eye a recently vacated restaurant location near Union Square.

And last October, Rider University in New Jersey took a stand against the franchise coming to campus despite students voting in favor of adding a Chick-fil-A to on-campus dining options.

The massive donations to anti-gay groups aren't news, either. As far back as 2010, Chick-fil-A donated almost $2 million to conservative Christian groups that oppose LGBTQ equality. So perhaps consider getting your sweet tea and fried chicken elsewhere.
