Chris Hemsworth Set To Play Receptionist In All-Female "Ghostbusters"

As if we needed an excuse to get even more excited for the Paul Feig-directed all-female Ghostbusters reboot comes the blessed news that Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, has joined the cast.

Feig made the announcement on his Twitter (where else?).

Surely the only time in history Hemsworth will reprise a role made famous by Annie Potts, he joins a cast of comedy titans including Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

According to Variety, Hemsworth was offered the role very early in the process, but passed due to the role being too small. Sony, appropriately, beefed up the part to persuade him to get on board.

Hemsworth will next be seen in another reboot (or sequel, depending on your preferred jargon), Vacation, which features a very hung Hemsworth and what we're hoping and praying is not a prosthetic.

Production begins on Ghostbusters later this summer for a July 22, 2016 release.
