If you were paying attention in high school English class, you may recall that Herman Melville's Moby Dick was based on a true story.

In Ron Howard's upcoming In the Heart of the Sea, based on that true tale, Chris Hemsworth plays a sailor who gets lost at sea in his quest for the fabled whale.

Hemsworth shared a picture of his skinny new look on Instagram. "Just tried a new diet/training program called 'Lost At Sea.'" he wrote in the accompanying caption. "Wouldn't recommend it... #IntheHeartoftheSea."

Now, drastic weight loss has meant Oscar gold for several actors—Tom Hanks in Cast Away, Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club, etc. So Chris may have sacrificed his Asgardian abs and pecs for that little gold statuette.

Can we just give it to him now so he can get back to flooding our basement like God intended?
