“Project Runway” Alum Chris March Designing Wigs For Target, As Only He Could

We kinda stopped watching Project Runway a few seasons back, and have trouble remembering most of the contestants, but in the 12 seasons it has been on the air (15 if you count All Stars), no contestant has ever been more beloved, or shown such an undying affinity for sequins, than the wacky and zany and crazy talented Chris March. And now he’s designing Halloween wigs for Target!

That’s right kids, it what may be the greatest, and most logical, partnership ever, Mr. March, the man who has designed costumes for Cirque de Soleil and an Oscar dress for Meryl Streep, will now be making the most garish and fabulous Halloween headpieces ever for the retail chain that has made its fashion mark but only working with the best in the business, such as Rodarte, Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler and, currently, Phillip Lim.

In an interview with The Cut, March said all the pieces in his “Big Fun” collection would be made of foam, fabulous (obvi) and, even better, retail for $20 or less. And, in true March fashion, these wigs are bright, bold and, dare we say, big enough to put even Mama Ru’s tresses to shame.

Check out a few of the looks above, and get thee to Target come September 15, when these gems go on sale. They’re not only great for Halloween, but also for popping on when watching the lost season of RuPaul’s Drag Race when it premieres September 30 on Logo.

Because, as we all know, the higher the hair, the closer to Michelle Visage.
