Chris Salvatore’s Beloved Neighbor Norma Passed Away At 89

"Her story helped the world to see the true meaning of love."

Chris Salvatore announced via social media on Wednesday that Norma Cook, the elderly neighbor he formed a best friendship with, has passed away at the age of 89.

The 31-year-old actor, best known for his role in the Eating Out movies, had featured his relationship with Norma in popular web videos for the past few years, but the heartwarming friendship gained national attention last month after Salvatore moved her into his home to help take care of her.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news that earlier this morning the world lost a truly inspiring, beautiful woman,” he wrote on Facebook.

When Cook recently decided to opt out of leukemia treatments and was told she only had a few months to live, Salvatore stepped up to be her primary caregiver, saying, “It’s my job to make her feel comfortable and at peace and not lonely.”

“Perhaps Norma’s lasting legacy is that her story helped the world to see the true meaning of love,” Salvatore wrote in his Facebook post. “Norma reminded me that we all are created to love and all desire to be loved…Each of us is lovable even with all of our differences.”
