Church's Accidental Double Entendre Is A Real Mouthful

Jesus is coming!

A church in Edgewater, Florida is repenting this week after posting a sign about forgiveness that most people read as a sexual innuendo.

The Bella Villa Baptist Church posted a message on the sign in front of its building that read, "Forgiveness is swallowing when you want to spit." And it was somehow not about oral sex.

A woman posted a photo of the sign on Instagram, saying she had to do a U-turn to see if she actually read the sign right. And, indeed, she had.

"I think someone is a little mad at their wife," she captioned the photo, adding the hashtag #swallowforthelord.

Church representatives told Orlando's WKMG that the sign was "completely innocent" and was "intended as encouragement to forgive." Honestly, we can barely figure out the intended message they were trying to get across, as it sounds so blatantly sexual.

The church removed the message and said it apologizes to anyone who was offended.
