"Clean Up This Mess!" Is Faye Dunaway Writing A Tell-All About "Mommie Dearest"?

Entertainment reporters from her to Timbuktu know one thing about celebrity interviews: Never ask Faye Dunaway about Mommie Dearest.

Though worshipped in gay circles for decades, the 1981 biopic about Joan Crawford and her poor misbegotten children is believed to have derailed Dunaway's career, which was flying high with films like Bonnie & Clyde, Chinatown and Network, which scored her an Academy Award for Best Actress.

We always thought the movie was under-appreciated as just a camp classic, when it's really more of an operatic descent into madness.

Regardless, it looks as if the 74-year-old movie icon is now ready to talk about Dearest, according to a note in the Publisher's Lunch newsletter that mentions "Academy Award winning actress Faye Dunaway’s recollections, stories and behind the scenes account of the making of one of Hollywood’s most iconic films, Mommie Dearest, to Julia Cheiffetz at Dey Street Books." (Dey Street is an imprint of HarperCollins.)
