As he makes the television rounds promoting his forthcoming film Trouble with the Curve with Amy Adams, Clint Eastwood has had little choice but to revisit his sad, wacky turn as the RNC’s celebrity chair scolder.
So far, Eastwood has stood by his decision to improvise his speech, showing remorse to neither CNN or Good Morning America.
Or to Ellen Degeneres, whose show he stopped by today. One more issue where he stuck to his, ahem, guns was his 2011 proclamation in GQ that he doesn’t “give a fuck about who wants to get married to anybody else!”
“It is like the libertarian idea of ‘leave everybody alone,’” the Dirty Hairy grumbler told Ellen on Tuesday’s show, the clip from which is posted here.
Though an avowed conservative, Eastwood has largely sided with the right wing on fiscal issues and gun rights, rather than on social issues.
“More important things to talk about,” the out talk show host said later.
“Exactly,” Eastwood agreed.
