Kennedy Grandson Arrested After Defending Gay Friend In Bar Brawl

Conor Kennedy, JFK's great-nephew, is also Taylor Swift's ex.

The grandson of Robert F. Kennedy was arrested for fighting outside a Colorado nightclub this week, and he says it all started because he was defending his gay friend who had been called a homophobic slur.

22-year-old Conor Kennedy was at Bootsy Bellows in Aspen when the fight broke out after a group of men allegedly refused to apologize for shouting the slur at his friend.

His father, Robert Kennedy Jr., confirmed the story in an interview with the Aspen Times, saying, "Conor has always reacted against bullying. I’m happy he stood up for his friend."

An Aspen news release claims Conor was found "rolling around on the ground" in a fight with another man outside the club around 1:40 in the morning, adding that he allegedly punched the man in the head about four or five times before struggling to get away from the officer trying to restrain him.

A police report states that Kennedy later apologized to one of the officers and explained, "He called my friend the f-word."

He was arrested and booked on a charge of disorderly conduct.
