Converse Steps Up Its New Pride Sneaker Line With Trans Flag Colors

"March like you mean it."

Converse is kicking off Pride early with its latest Pride-themed sneaker collection.

For the first time, the popular athletic brand's limited-edition Chuck Taylor All-Star high tops and low tops include designs inspired by transgender flag colors: light blue, pink, and white.

"Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Pride in Chucks designed to honor love and equality in every form," reads the Converse website. “March like you mean it in colorful sneakers made for celebrating the LGBTQ+ community."

“With rainbow soles and your choice of flag-inspired colors, laces, and special-edition patches, it’s easy to design a pair of parade-worthy Chucks. However you identify, whoever you love—tell your story with Pride.”

The eight different Pride designs, available in adult and children’s sizes, range from $60 to $80. One design includes the phrase “Yes to Love.” All sneakers in the new collection have rainbow soles.

While rainbow and trans flag colors are standard, further design customization is available using more colors inspired by the bisexual, asexual, intersex, genderqueer, lesbian, and pansexual flags.

Converse is the first major athletic brand to debut its 2019 Pride collection. Its inaugural Pride collection debuted in 2014.
