Canada's Hottest Summer Resort Towns
What else?
1. Tofino:
In sum: Hot guys in wetsuits & the best hotel in Canada*.
(*second best, but that's pretty damn close)
Don't miss: Long Beach and Chesterman Beach, a meal, spa treatment or room (if you can splurge) at the Wick Inn.
2. Haida Gwaii (aka Queen Charlotte Islands)
This is a PHENOMENAL, magical, little-traveled corner of the planet -- perfect for those who are more than a little bit outdoorsy and like love to fish/hike/admire unspoiled nature. The area is a vast archipelago on the North Coast of British Columbia (north of Victoria Island) named for its locals, the Haida people. Haida Gwaii is made up of two main islands: Graham Island in the north and Moresby Island in the south, along with more than 150 smaller islands. What's there to do? Not a lot of sightseeing or bars... but plenty of hiking, fishing, camping, surfing, exploring. The islands are full of wildlife, from black bear to black-tailed deer and many smaller critters. And the ocean has some of the best whale watching anywhere.
In sum: If you want to REALLY get away from it all and see primordial earth...this is the spot
Don't miss: Totem poles and orcas!
