Could We Get A Marriage Ruling This Week? SCOTUS Adds New Decision Day To Calendar
The U.S. Supreme Court really likes to make us sweat: The highest court in the land has added Friday, June 26, as a day it will release opinions before going into summer recess, according to the Dallas Voice.
That ups the odds we could get a verdict in Obergefell v. Hodges, the groundbreaking marriage equality case, before Pride. Of course, Thursday, June 25, and Monday, June 29, are already marked as decision days—so we're could be looking at a full week of nail-biting.
There are seven decisions left to be announced this term. In addition to marriage equality, SCOTUS will issue rulings on Obamacare, and on cases involving gun laws and the death penalty.
