Courtney Love Is Back, Looking Amazing, And Starring On "Empire"

More and more, Empire is turning into Glee for grown folks—but, y'know, better: Engaging gay storylines, musical numbers and celebrity guest stars.

Last week's episode has us clutching our pearls with appearances by both Naomi Campbell and Gladys Knight. But the real fire starts burning when rock goddess Courtney Love makes her debut on the Lee Daniels-produced series February 11.

The Hole frontwoman will have a recurring role on as "a hard rock powerhouse, who is part of Empire Entertainment’s stable of artists," according to Fox.

Of course Love, 50, is no stranger to acting—having appeared in Sid and Nancy, The People vs. Larry Flynt, and a recent episode of FX's Sons of Anarchy.

She's also no stranger to off-screen drama—Love recently admitted to doing heroin while pregnant with daughter Francis Bean Kobain—but if these episodic stills are any indication, she's cleaned up, got her head on straight and is looking great.

Of course, Star Magazine reports Kurt Cobain's widow has been "difficult" on set. "She'll come to a shoot more than an hour late and then act clueless about being late," says one on-set source.  "Sometimes she has her lines memorized, sometimes she doesn't -- and when she doesn't, she'll just wing it."

To be fair, what do you expect when you hire Courtney Love?

Would it be too much to ask for a throwdown scene between Love and Campbell? It would be like a modern-day Dynasty moment.
