Just as quickly as the Babadook become an unexpected queer icon, another fictional character has been embraced for Pride month: Meet Cuca, a mythological crocodile with a penchant for blond wigs and sass who steals from naughty children. (In some legends, she actually eats the kiddies.)

Cuca surfaced as an Internet meme last week and quickly took off. Fans have been interjecting her into Pride parades and some of RuPaul's Drag Race's most infamous scenes.

She's appeared in children's books as far back as the 1920s, but its the live-action version from 1970s television that's making the rounds.
