For Danny Pellegrino, Pride is nothing short of iconic.
The Ohio-born, Los Angeles-based writer and comedian has made a name for himself as a hilarious multi-hyphenate. His projects run the gamut, from the podcast Everything Iconic, which Pellegrino hosts and produces, to his very queer memoir, How Do I Un-Remember This?: Unfortunately True Stories.
The book was published back in March and quickly became a New York Times bestseller, a feat that makes Pellegrino “so proud.”
“I didn’t wanna shy away from any of the gay references,” the out author tells Logo. “It was really important to me that a young kid growing up in Ohio who was figuring out his sexuality, would be able to read the book and maybe see a future that he didn’t think was possible beforehand.”
I’m officially a New York Times bestselling author! #5!!! Completely overwhelmed! Thank you for all the love & support! It means so much to me. ❤️ @nytimes @Sourcebooks pic.twitter.com/DDYYwa15KZ

Aside from snatching spots on bestseller lists, Pellegrino is also a veteran Pride-goer. His biggest “dos” and “don’ts” for June? First and foremost, be sure to have a good time.
“Make a really kick-ass playlist, and have some good food set up and some good hangover options,” he advises. “Don’t get too messy, and have a gay old time.”
