James Franco loves to tease the Internet, even when it's not about himself: This week, the This is the End star reposted a Hollywood Life article that seemed to announce that his lil bro, Dave Franco, was dating Zac Efron, his co-star from the summer comedy Neighbors.

"Efron and My brother, dating!," he wrote with a screencap of the story. "Congrats, boys! I'm so happy for you!!!

Turns out the "article" was a fake—a doctored image posted on Web, presumably to mock Efron's rumored romance with Michelle Rodriguez. Notice that the font varies in different instances—plus, the author of the story is "Dave Francock" and includes a thumbnail of James Franco. ("Dave Francock" actually has an Instagram account, where he posts multiple pictures with Dave Franco edits)

The doctored photo is actually based on a real Hollywood Life story about Efron dating Neighbors co-star Halston Sage. We're glad this is all cleared up—we were worried Dave had broken up with his true love, Christopher Mitz-Plasse.
