Above, Davey Wavey gives us the lowdown on Spirit Day, October 17, when millions of people around the world will wear purple to stand in solidarity with LGBT youth. The event was launched in 2010 by high-school student Brittany McMillan, who wanted a way to remember the young people who had been lost to suicide and anti-gay bullying.

Some pretty big names are joining the campaign, including Ryan Lewis and Macklemore, Betty White and the cast of Hot in Cleveland, Ke$ha, JWoww and Snooki, Jason Collins, Nick Cannon, and Nav and Dev of Catfish. Logo and NewNowNext will be donning purple on October 17—will you?
