David Gest, music producer and reality TV star was found dead in his hotel room in London’s Canary Wharf on Tuesday morning, reports The Sun. He was 62.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 10:17hrs on Tuesday 12 April to the Four Seasons hotel, in Westferry Circus, E14, to reports of an unexplained death of a man in his 60s. London Ambulance Service were called to the scene. Life was pronounced extinct at the hotel.”

Gest was a music producer and performer, but is most famous for being married to Liza Minnelli from 2002 to 2007, and in recent years he appeared on reality series I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and this year’s Celebrity Big Brother in the U.K.

He was set to begin a tour this July titled David Gest Is Not Dead, But Alive With Soul, named after the cringeworthy scene that erupted when his Big Brother housemate, Tiffany Pollard, mistakenly thought Gest had died during filming.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.
