Revenge has not been renewed for a third season but if it is the drama will go on without creator Mike Kelley who will be leaving the show after a creatively challenged second season. I’ll eagerly tune in to Kelley’s next series, but I’ll be wary about the second season.
Once again, Futurama has been cancelled with the final episode airing in September. I have to admit, I feel mixed about this development. As much as I adore Futurama, the episodes made for Comedy Central struggled to hit the emotional notes from the early seasons. For a series that started with such a cynical point of view, Futurama turned out to be incredibly sentimental. The Comedy Central episodes usually went for the gross-out joke over the tearjerker moment. Still, I’m keeping my fingers crossed it finds a new home.
In further disappointing TV news, WWII drama Bomb Girls has been cancelled, but it will get a wrap-up movie.
Okay. E! wants to spin-off The Soup with a parody of investigative newsmagazines? I’m having trouble imagining what this show would be like.
ABC Family’s upcoming Twisted just added two more familiar faces, according to The Hollywood Reporter with Jessica Tuck appearing as the mother of the murder victim at the center of the series and Robin Givens as another mother at the school.
Mario Lopez will return as host of The X-Factor this fall but he’ll be hosting without Khloe Kardashian. As Andy Dehnart observes, there’s a surprisingly long list of people who have been let go from that show, Kardashian is the seventh person to leave The X-Factor after just two seasons. The only person to appear in all three seasons is executive producer Simon Cowell.
The 2000 film Battle Royale will air on television for the first time next month. I only finally saw it a few weeks ago, having read the novel when it was first released in English. Someday, I’ll unleash the rant about how much I hated the movie.

Days of Our Lives (NBC) Check local listings
Okay, I’m confused. TV Guide said today’s show would include Days’ take on Magic Mike with Brady, Rafe and Daniel joining Cameron on the strip club stage. However, omg! Insider said the strip club scenes would air on Wednesday. I’m playing it safe and recording both days’ Days from the high definition channel.
Teen Titans Go! (Cartoon Network) 7:30 PM ET
The Cartoon Network tries to extend the life of the Titans franchise by turning them into DC Comics’ version of Looney Tunes, which sounds like a terrible idea except the DC Nation shorts to inspire the series were a lot of fun. I’m hoping this one succeeds, if only for the Raven be hilariously annoyed at everybody.
Ready to Love (NBC) 9:00 PM ET
Tonight’s schedule is looking like a “clear out your DVR” night but if you don’t have a full DVR to empty you could heckle NBC’s dead show walking, at least for as long as you can handle watching Ready for Love.
Awkward (MTV) 10:00 PM ET
Jenna notices that Matty has been distant ever since he found out about the pregnancy not from Jenna but from Jake. Has she managed to Carrie Bradshaw another relationship? Good thing there’s a third guy in Jenna’s romance queue already.
What!? I’m an Animal (Logo) 10:00 PM ET
Logo takes a look at people who feel like they are an animal born in a human body. Sure, people will claim to be cool animals like wolves or lions, but will any of the subjects claim to be a hyena or an equally unloved animal?
Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life (MTV) 11:00 PM ET
I don’t have a very positive view of Ke$ha mostly because when I think of her, I think of “Tik Tok” which eventually leads to me pounding my head on the wall screaming, “Out, damn’d song! Out, I say!” However, if her new reality show focuses her connecting with fans or dealing with the challenges of touring, I might find a way to deal with “Tik Tok.”
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC) 11:35 PM ET
Carol Burnett and Stephen Amell on the same show? Neat.
