Debbie Reynolds And Carrie Fisher Memorabilia Being Auctioned Off

Proceeds will benefit mental-health charities.

Have you always wanted to own Debbie Reynolds' dress from The Unsinkable Molly Brown? What about a life-size Princess Leia statue? Well, now thanks to a new auction of memorabilia collected by Reynolds and her daughter Carrie Fisher you can.

Reynolds owned one of the largest collections of classic film props and costumes in the world—and she had put her items up for sale in years past. Now the latest auction will include items from Reynolds' collection and her daughter's estate including Fisher's writing desk, chairs from the set of Star Wars and the Princess Leia statue that was featured in her one-woman show Wishful Drinking.

“It is truly a great privilege for us at Profiles in History to be holding this auction—Debbie and Carrie were both dear friends for many years,” said Joe Maddalena, CEO of Profiles in History, in a statement. “I hope fans from around the world have an opportunity to acquire a memento from their remarkable lives and careers. They are both missed.”

Portions of the proceeds will go to Reynolds' charity, The Thalians, and The Jed Foundation, a charity chosen by Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd.

The auction begins Sept. 23 and with over 1,500 items it is expected to last for several days.

“My mother and sister were magnificent collectors, they amassed an amazing and diverse collection in their lifetimes," added Todd Fisher. "The size and scope of their collection rivals most museums. So in keeping with my mother’s wishes we have decided to share part of their magnificent collection with all their friends and fans.”

On December 23, Fisher went into cardiac arrest about 15 minutes before landing on a flight from London to Los Angeles. Once on the ground, an unresponsive Fisher was taken to UCLA Medical Center and placed on a ventilator. She passed away the following Tuesday.

Her mother, Reynolds suffered a stroke the following day and also passed. Fisher’s brother, Todd told TMZ that Reynolds’ final words were: “I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie.”
