Hollywood royal Debbie Reynolds has reportedly been rushed to the hospital for what is being described as a possible stroke.

TMZ reports the Singin' in the Rain' star took ill just a day after the death of her daughter, Carrie Fisher, was announced. An ambulance arrived at the Beverly Hills home of Carrie's brother, Todd Fisher, at about 1pm following a call to 911.

The 84-year-old actress has reportedly been "distraught" since Carrie suffered a cardiac episode aboard a United jet on Friday. She was at her son's house discussing funeral arrangements.

Reynolds took to social media to thank fans for their support as her family grieves.

“Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter,” she wrote. “I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop."

Reynolds signed the post, "Love, Carrie's Mother.”

Born Mary Frances "Debbie" Reynolds in El Paso Texas in 1932, she got her start in the studio system of the 1950s and '60s, appearing in films like How the West Was Won, The Unsinkable Molly Brown and The Singing Nun.

More recently she appeared in In & Out, Behind the Candelabra and as Debra Messing's mother, Bobbi, on Will & Grace.
