Sorry, not sorry, but we're confident we'll love Demi Lovato on Will & Grace!

EW confirmed this week that the 27-year-old "Cool for the Summer" singer will appear in three episodes of the revival's upcoming third and final season as Jenny, "a guarded gal who comes into the life of Will (Eric McCormack) in an unexpected way." How mysterious!

"She’s here to have some laughs with us,” Sean Hayes captioned one photo with Lovato on social media, adding, “This is SO MUCH FUN.”

"You are so sweet," Debra Messing commented on one of Lovato's posts. "I am so happy you came to play with us! You are now officially part of the family."

"They’re the dream team," Lovato wrote on Instagram after shooting an episode, "honored to be a part of this cast. Last night was amazing and I can’t wait to return for more!!!" While explaining to fans why she skipped the VMAs, she added on her Instagram Story, "I can’t stop laughing."

It was announced last month that Lovato has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix comedy Eurovision, along with Will Ferrell, Rachel McAdams, Dan Stevens, and Pierce Brosnan. Lovato will play Katiana, one of the best singers in Iceland, marking her first live-action movie since 2010’s Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Lovato’s other screen credits include Smurfs: The Lost Village, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, and Glee.

Lovato, who has openly struggled with addiction, said in her 2017 YouTube documentary, Simply Complicated, that she is open to dating both men and women. She has declined to further define her sexuality.

A vocal LGBTQ ally, Lovato revealed at Logo’s inaugural Trailblazers Honors in 2014 that she had a gay grandfather. She received the Vanguard Award at the 2016 GLAAD Media Awards.

Returning guest stars Matt Bomer, Vanessa Bayer, and Blythe Danner have also been confirmed for the final season of Will & Grace.

Will & Grace, which ran on NBC for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006, returned in 2017 with all four original leads—Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally, and Sean Hayes—to become the network’s top-rated comedy. NBC announced last month that the upcoming third season of the revival, the sitcom's 11th season overall, will be its last.

"The impact and legacy of Will & Grace simply can’t be overstated, both as a true game-changer in the portrayal of the LGBTQ community and as one of the finest comedies in television history.”

“We think of the Will & Grace reboot episodes the way Karen Walker thinks of martinis—51 is not enough, 53 is too many. That is why, after consulting with the cast, we all have decided this will be the final season of Will & Grace,” creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan said in a joint statement with director Jimmy Burrows. “In 2016, Bob Greenblatt came to us with the idea of doing a 10-episode reboot of Will & Grace. They say you can’t go home again, but we did. And now, three seasons and 52 episodes later, we’re even more proud of something we never thought we’d get a chance to do again. We have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience twice. And for that, we owe a double debt of gratitude to NBC, this show’s supportive and caring home since day one.”

The Will & Grace revival’s second season concluded April 4. The final 18-episode season will premiere in 2020.
