Demi Lovato To Be Honored At GLAAD Media Awards, Nick Jonas Will Present

Demi Lovato will receive the Vanguard Award for promoting equality and acceptance.

The GLAAD Media Awards are returning to Logo on April 4 at 10/9c, when pop superstar Demi Lovato will be honored with the organization's Vanguard award for her work promoting equality and acceptance.

Lovato shared the story of her grandfather's coming out at the 2014 Logo Trailblazer Honors, and continued her advocacy by performing at L.A. Pride (where she recorded her video for "Really Don't Care,"), recording PSAs for marriage equality and It Gets Better, and even playing a lesbian character on Glee.

Fellow singer and ally Nick Jonas will present Lovato with the award.

"Demi Lovato has consistently used her platform as a successful artist to send messages of acceptance and support to LGBT people everywhere,” said GLAAD's president, Sarah Kate Ellis. "She is an extraordinary ally who is committed to helping young people embrace who they are and live the lives they love."

The 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on April 2. The New York ceremony will be held on May 14 at the Waldorf-Astoria.
