Tyne Daley And Sharon Gless Reunite, Join Broadway Stars, For Musical Tribute At DNC

They closed out the night with an emotional performance of "What The World Needs Now Is Love."

Following a day of speeches centered on gun control, over 40 Broadway stars took to the stage at the Democratic National Convention Thursday night with a rousing rendition of "What The World Needs Now Is Love."

Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Audra McDonald, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Debra Messing, Rosie Perez, Darren Criss, Tyne Daly, Sharon Gless and dozens more gathered on stage to sing the anthem, which was originally recorded in tribute to the victims of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Personal politics aside, seeing these stars come together in such a powerful show of solidarity against senseless violence is definitely something the world needs now.

Plus, hats off to the producer who paired up Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly for the mini Cagney & Lacey reunion we never knew we needed.
