Chick-fil-A is a lonely place at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, as two intrepid Boston Herald reporters discovered. Checking out the eatery in the basement of the Omni, they found no line and no patrons, but they decided to take Chick-fil-A to Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, and see if he would turn down the hate-meat.
Turns out Mayor Menino is standing strong after drafting a letter to the company’s COO Dan Cathay this summer saying there was no place for the eatery in Boston after the comments Cathay made about same-sex marriage. Not only did he turn down the food, he then reprimanded the reporter.
“No Chick-fil-A for me. You want to make fun of the issue of division? I’m not there,” he says in the video above.
