According to TMZ, Williams checked herself into a mental health facility outside of Los Angeles a few days ago. The singer took to social media to discuss the news and encourage others to seek help if they need it.

"For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it's time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing," said Williams in a statement on Twitter Tuesday (July 17). "Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need."

Last year on The Talk, Williams admitted at the height of Destiny's Child's success, she was suicidal and depressed.

Rapper Missy Elliott also took to Twitter to send words of encouragement to Williams and ask fans to save the jokes.

In April, Williams reunited with groupmates Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland for Bey's Coachella set—the first time the group had performed together in several years.
