"The Devil Wears Prada" Is Headed To Broadway

Miranda Priestley is leaving the pages of Runway for the Broadway stage: Fox Stage Productions has announced that a musical adaptation of the gay-fave movie The Devil Wears Prada is Broadway-bound.

Elton John will compose the music for the production, which is inspired from both the film and the novel on which it was based, while Paul Rudnick will write the lyrics and book.

"Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theater is super exciting," John said in a statement. "I'm a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can't wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture."

No production dates or casting has been announced, but let's pray to the theater gods that agents are already calling Meryl Streep to reprise her Oscar-nominated role. With other Hollywood A-listers like Bette Midler and Glenn Close hitting the Great White Way, she'd be right at home.

We're already dreaming of a show-stopping "That's All" musical number.
