Ariana Grande has been dropping subtle hints about her forthcoming album Sweetener on social media, but on Wednesday (July 11), the pop sensation caused a commotion when she tweeted a photo of herself with Madonna accompanied by a cryptic caption.

“Thank you @madonna…u know why,” tweeted the pint-sized songstress with a heart emoji and an emoji of the Golden Gate Bridge. Since Grande has been using the latter symbol when posting about her new music, her fans are convinced the tweet means the two entertainers are cooking up something in the studio.
Theory: Ariana & Madonna recorded a song together which would explain why Ariana was in the studio yesterday. pic.twitter.com/JdUIWNYSHr

Grande’s mother also joined in on the teasing.

Will the pop stars save pop music with a collab? Guess we’ll have to wait until Sweetener drops August 17.
