Modern Love, not just a column
Did everyone catch Modern Family’s big ‘Gay Kiss’ episode last night? I thought it was a pretty genius set up. After the weeks of hype, and all the near-kiss gimmicks in the episode, the actual kiss was just a simple peck in the background of another scene. To be honest, I completely missed it the first time around, and was all LIARS!! But after I calmed down a bit, turned off my Britney Spears Glee covers, and looked for it again I caught it:
SEXXXYTIME!!! Don’t you love gay kiss hype though? It comes around once every couple of years. Kind of like the olympics. First gay kiss in a sit-com! First gay kiss in a soap opera! First gay kiss in front of the Price is Right wheel! However, I definitely prefer my televised gay kisses to be front and center and cushioned by some stilted dialogue. Who needs a subtle, appropriately balanced lip-lock when you can have one of these bad boys: (click through for vids)
