Disney Channel Adds First Gay Male Couple To Cartoon "Gravity Falls"
"We're mad with power...and love!"
The Disney Channel just took a huge step towards equality this week by introducing its first gay male couple on the Disney XD show, Gravity Falls.
Fans of the popular cartoon series had suspsected that minor characters Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland were a couple for some time, but it looks like they finally admitted their love in the show's series finale.
Show creator Alex Hirsch had said in the past that he'd be thrilled to include LGBT characters on the show.
"I would love to, but I doubt they'd ever let me do it in kids TV," said Hirsch. "But man, I would if I could."
Well, it looks like they found a way to incorporate it into the series, and hopefully it gives young LGBT kids a reminder that they're not alone.
