There will be at least one new gay teen at McKinley High when Glee returns for its sixth and final season on January 9: Marshall Williams, who competed on Canadian Idol in 2007 and 2008, will play Spencer, the school's new "football stud" with the voice of an angel.

According to the casting notice, Spencer is actually “post-Glee gay —no one messes with him about his sexuality because he will kick their asses if they do.” Williams, who has also modeled, appeared this summer in the Disney TV movie How to Build a Better Boy.

Also joining Glee for its final hurrah is Billy Lewis Jr., who will plays Mason, a "super-positive and extremely weird kid [who] gives off a gay vibe (spoiler alert: he's not)," as per TV Line.

So that's a gay guy that comes off straight, and a straight guy that comes off gay? Crazy!

Returning to the show is Max Adler, a.k.a. newly out jock Dave Karofsky. Rumor has it he's actually going to be a love interest for Blaine.

And Naya Rivera's Santana is also back, of course, and could very well be tying the knot herself.—whether its with Brittany or some other lucky lady remains to be seen.

“It really [will be] a lovely, fitting season that… dwells on the original people that were on the show and what happens to them and how they give back,”  said Ryan Murphy earlier this year. “We’ll revisit some of the new kids that came and went.... It’s really interesting, a very sweet, satisfying ending to the story.”
