Disneyland Apologizes For Banning Little Boy From 'Princess For A Day' Celebration

His mother wasn't about to "let it go."

Disneyland Paris has apologized for telling a 3-year-old he couldn't take part in the park's “Princess for a Day” experience just because he's a boy.

Noah McLean-Glass is a Princess Elsa super-fan, so when he learned the Disneyland Hotel outside Paris was having a princess makeover, he was thrilled.

ITV

"Grant every little girl's wish with a real princess's makeup and hairstyling session—a fairytale transformation they'll treasure forever."

Noah's mother, Hayley, wanted to give him the makeover as an early Christmas present.

“I knew that there would be NOTHING he'd love more than to get to wear a pretty dress, put make up on like Mummy does, and have his photo taken being one of his beloved Disney princesses," she wrote in a blogpost,

But Hayley was stunned to receive a reply from the hotel telling her "at this time, it is not possible to book 'Princess for a Day' for a boy."

ITV

“I was so angry, I literally couldn’t stop shaking for half an hour afterwards," she told ITV. "I was just so shocked. I mean, I’m his mother and if I’m okay with him doing it, who are Disney to tell me that he can’t do that?”

She makes the point that if a little girl wanted to have a pirate experience or a "Spider-Man for a Day" makeover, the park wouldn't have given it a second glance. "So why is it different for a boy?"

In a statement to ITV, a rep for Disneyland Paris said the company “sincerely apologized” to Noah and his mother, and claimed the denial was an “isolated incident.”

“The cast member’s response is not reflective of any policy or belief held here at Disneyland Paris. Of course, both boys and girls are welcome to enjoy the "Princess For a Day" experience, in addition to all our other special activities."

On the Disneyland Paris site, the "Princess for a Day" package description now reads "Every child's wish can come true with a total princess makeover and hairstyling session."
