Kat Von D’s beauty aesthetic has always been bold, and now she’s taking her cue from one of the boldest queens in pop culture: The L.A. Ink star is launching a new line of cosmetics inspired by Divine.
Von D first teased the makeup collection on Instagram in June before officially confirming it a month later.
Now we’re getting our first glimpse of the eyeshadow palette, which features the iconic black wings and high-drawn brows that John Waters’ muse was famous for.
“As much as I’m dying to spill the beans, it’s a bit early in the game to give away all details, she told HelloGiggles. “But yes, we are definitely in production to release a Kat Von D x Divine collection—and it’s going to be fucking awesome.”

No word on when the collection will at Sephora, where Kat Von D Beauty is sold: Von D’s boyfriend, Cody Carlson, was the first to leak photos from the line on his Instagram, though he quickly deleted them.
Though she had already donned drag in Mondo Trasho and Multiple Maniacs, Divine debuted her most iconic look in Waters’ 1972 cult classic Pink Flamingos: Waters told makeup artist Van Smith to make her look like a cross “between Jayne Mansfield and Clarabell the Clown.”
He shaved her hairline and penciled in eyebrows that reached halfway up her head.
Let’s hope Kat D does her justice. Maybe she could reach out to the Drag Race queens for assistance.
