Dixie Chicks To Launch First North American Tour In 10 Years

Cowgirls, take us away.

The long exile is over: The Dixie Chicks will headline a new North American tour starting June 1, 2016, in Cincinnati.

The tour, which is set to wrap October 10 in L.A., marks the first time Natalie Maines and sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robison have headlined together stateside since 2006.

The Dixie Chicks topped country and pop charts in the 2000s, winning 13 Grammy Awards and legions of fans. The trio was effectively pushed out of the industry, though, after Maines criticized the Iraq War at a 2003 concert in London.

"We do not want this war [or] this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas."

Since then, the three have pursued European tours, solo albums and other projects.

In a 2013 Rolling Stone interview, Maines admitted the backlash made her feel “tainted.”

“I don’t know if we put a tour up, if people would come,” she fretted.

Now, two years later, the ladies are back to finish out their DCX MMXVI tour currently in Europe with a return home to the states.

Nashville better watch out.

Public tickets go on sale Nov. 21.
