CNN’s Don Lemon Gets Engaged to His Partner: “How Could I Say No?”
Breaking news! Don Lemon is engaged to his partner, real estate agent Tim Malone.
The CNN Tonight anchor, 53, shared an Instagram post Friday that showed the couple’s dogs, Boomer and Barkley, wearing tags around their necks that read “Daddy Will You Marry Papa?”
"He gave me a present on his birthday," Lemon captioned the photo. "How could I say no?"
Malone also shared the engagement announcement on his Instagram Story, writing, “He said YES!”
Metrosource reports that Lemon and Malone, who met at a restaurant in the Hamptons, have been dating since 2016.
“I’m never sure why people are interested in me,” said Lemon, who came out publicly in his 2011 book Transparent.
“Is it because of me? Is it because of what I do? Is it because they think they’re gonna get some sort of fame, or... I have no idea. So in that sense, dating was a bit difficult. And it’s probably why I was single for so long, ’cause I was just so focused on my career and probably not so trusting of people wanting to get into a relationship with me.”
Lemon and Malone memorably shared an on-air kiss during CNN’s 2018 New Year’s Eve broadcast.
