House of Versace, a film we truly believe may be the greatest piece of work cherished American television network Lifetime has ever produced, airs this Saturday, and we could not be more excited. Less excited however is Donatella Versace, the taupe-colored woman on who the film is based.
In a statement to WWD, the actual house of Versace said: “Since Versace did not authorize the book on which it is based, the movie should only be seen as a work of fiction.”
The book they speak of is House of Versace: The Untold Story of Genius, Murder and Survival by Deborah Ball, an unauthorized bio of Donatella and her life after the death of brother Gianni, which included bankruptcy, drug addiction and lots of peroxide.
In other news, watch your back Gina Gershon.
