This 9-Year-Old Whitney Houston Fan Is What’s Right With The World

"He is our joy boy."

With the news so full of dark and depressing things these days, we’re looking for light wherever we can find it. And we’ve definitely found it in this passionate performance from Dane Miller.

The 9-year-old from Texas is a giant fan of Whitney Houston, and now a video of him covering the pop star’s song “I Have Nothing” has been viewed over 26 million times on Facebook.

Miller’s mom, Danna, says that despite having Down syndrome, her son is healthy, high functioning and full of heart.

“He’s been musical since around two years old,” she told “He’s been playing the drums. He sings. He loves music. He puts his whole heart into everything he does.”

It’s that passion that helped Dane deliver such a soulful rendition of the Houston hit, and has attracted so many viewers to the video.

“He is our joy boy,” Miller said. “Our boy gives us joy every day. He’s the biggest blessing and now other people get to experience it.”
