Sadly, Australia's Labor party has lost the country's general election, meaning pro-LGBT Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has gotten his walking papers—and the hopes for same-sex marriage down under with him. Opposition leader Tony Abbott’s Liberal-National Party—which opposes equal marriage—is the projected winner.

Earlier this week, Rudd made us fall in love with him when he was challenged by a Christian pastor claiming the Bible defines marriage as between a man and a woman. His amazing reply: “The Bible also says slavery is a natural condition – Saint Paul said in the New Testament, ‘slaves be obedient to your masters’... If we get obsessed of the definition through a form of sexuality, you are missing what the Gospel is all about.”

In Tapei, 30 same-sex couples are holding a symbolic mass wedding today near the presidential building to push the government to legalize marriage equality.  More than a thousands people are expected at the pan-toh, a traditional extravagent outdoor banquet. "I'm always the one giving the red envelopes [at weddings]," said one participant. "Now I want to be the one sending out wedding invitations." A poll conducted by the Taiwan Alliance to Promote Civil Partnership Rights shows 53% of Taiwanese support same-sex marriage.

It seems longtime LGBT rights activist José Julio Sarria, who passed away at the age of 91 the other week, left very specific instructions for his funeral service:  Sarria, founder of the International Court System and a local drag legend in San Francisco, has required mourners to adhere to the following dress code:
