One Dozen Chers “Turn Back” Australian Navy

It’s that fabulous time of year again, Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardis Gras organizers felt there was no better way to promote the event than a bunch of drag queens giving their fiercest Cher and a bunch of sailors on a ship. Frankly, we agree. From the video’s page:

This Mardi Gras, it’s every Cher for herself!

As part of the Mardi Gras comes to Darling Harbour activations, Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras commissioned Cher The Love, recreating the Cher classic ’If I Could Turn Back Time’ onboard the HMAS Vampire, against the stunning backdrop of Darling Harbour and the Sydney skyline. The production features a troop of dancing Cher’s, lead by Vanity Faire, and supported by over one hundred volunteer Sailors.

The full video clip is intended as a loving tribute to a legendary pop artist who has demonstrated passionate support for LGBTQI rights throughout her career, and also as a celebration and thanks to the many LGBTQI people who continue to serve our country as members of the Australian Navy.

And in case you were wondering, this video is Cher approved.

Opinionated. You'll love to hate me
