Drag Diva Rhea Litré Invited To Dubai, But Forced To Perform Out of Drag

WeHo drag star Rhea Litré first caught our eye when she and NewNowNext bestie Willam recorded “Let’s Have a KaiKai, a hilarious sendup of the Scissor Sisters track that was burrowing into our brains last fall. But Litré got some unwanted attention this weekend in Dubai, where she was invited to help launch the gay-friendly party Carnage.

Who knew they had gay parties in Dubai (and ones sponsored by Andrew Christian, at that)?

But while Litré and her posse arrived in the posh principality with no problem, when it came time to perform outraged security guards shut the whole thing down. (Dubai, like many Arab countries, has strict laws against homosexuality and gender-bending.) Queerty reports that, rather than dissapoint the crowd, Rhea untucked, unwigged and performed out of drag.

Atta boy! Er, gurl.

Below, see what all the fuss is about in the video for "Let's Have a KaiKai"
