A female drag queen who stripped down to nipple covers during a performance in New Delhi, India this week said she was chased out of the country by armed police who deemed the performance "indecent."

Andrea Smith, 40, told the Birmingham Mail she suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after being involved in an abusive relationship, and performed the piece in question to raise awareness for domestic abuse.

Smith said organizers were outraged by her piece, which she performs at festivals in the UK as her drag alter-ego Swingerella, because she strips down to her underwear and a pair of nipple covers at one point.

Though there wasn't a visible uproar when Smith performed the piece, she claimed she immediately fled back to the UK after event organizers railed into her and informed her that military police were looking to detain her. She called the media to share her story "moments after touching down at Birmingham Airport."

"I was invited to speak at the forum and organizers knew what sort of show I performed as they had seen the videos on Youtube," Smith told the paper. "I carried out my act, and at the time nothing was said. But on Friday, when I asked the organizer why my performance had not been put on Youtube, he tore into me."

"He told me that I was indecent. He made me feel ashamed. My show IS outrageous, but they had all the links to it from YouTube and would have known what to expect."

Smith said she thinks the performance "was a bit of a culture shock" for the locals, and that the whole ordeal has left her scarred.

"I was threatened with jail and hunted down by the police,” she said. "It was really scary."

On Sunday, Smith uploaded a video she took at the conference to YouTube. In it, she claims she was "threatened with arrest" the previous day and criticizes award recipients at a ceremony for "looking pretty." Check it out below:
