Say “Hola!” to “Drag Race Spain”

Olé, you stay!

It’s time to slip on some espadrilles and brush up on your Spanish!

World of Wonder, the fierce production company behind the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise, has announced the latest international version of the hit competition series: Drag Race Spain. Like Drag Race Holland, the extravaganza will stream exclusively on WOW Presents Plus in the U.S. and other international markets, day-and-date with the Spanish airing on ATRESplayer PREMIUM.

“It is such an honor to welcome Spain to the Drag Race family, partner with Atres, and bring the fierce fabulous glamour of Spanish queens to new audiences around the world on WOW Presents Plus,” WOW co-founders Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey said in a statement. “In these dark and challenging times, we believe people need Drag Race’s joy, laughter, and heart now more than ever.”

A cute and colorful logo has been released for Drag Race Spain, but aside from where we will eventually be able to watch it, not much else is known about the show.

The show’s host, judges, cast, and premiere date will be RuVealed in the coming months. But since it involves Spanish drag queens, a Pedro Almodóvar-themed episode is practically guaranteed.

World of Wonder

This is just the latest in international Drag Race news. Drag Race Holland just finished its first season, and RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K. has already been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3, both set to air next year.

Maybe this is why Michelle Visage has been practicing her Spanish?

I write about drag queens. Dolly Parton once ruffled my hair and said I was "just the cutest thing ever."
