Get ready because the children are about to serve some piping hot Thai tea.
You have already seen the workroom and runway from Drag Race Thailand and even met the queens competing for the crown on the new international version of the hit U.S. series.
Now you will soon be able to watch the entire series for yourself. Today, it was announced that Drag Race Thailand will be premiering May 4 on WOW Present Plus, the new streaming platform from World of Wonder, the production company behind RuPaul’s Drag Race.
“We were fortunate enough to be on set for some of the taping of Drag Race Thailand, and we were left breathless!” Fenton Bailey, executive producer of RuPaul’s Drag Race, told Entertainment Weekly. “Be prepared to gag!”
Earlier this year, at MIPCOM festival in Cannes, Piyarat Kaljareuk, vice president of Katana Group Public Co. Ltd, announced on Instagram that the company would be producing a Thai version of Drag Race.
“It’s an amazing cast. The whole vibe feels great. They are really going for it. I can’t reveal any of the challenges, but it is really the first version of Drag Race internationally that’s an original version, but sticking to the format,” Bailey told NewNowNext.
“Even though they are following the format, I want them to bring their inimitable style and characteristics,” Bailey explained. “It’s not supposed to be a slavish copy of Drag Race U.S.A., and they should being their own creativity, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. And I think they are doing that! That’s what I saw when boots were on the ground.”
Along with a U.S. premiere date, a new supertailer for Drag Race Thailand has dropped, and even though the reality series might be in another language, you don’t need the subtitles to know drama when you see it.
Not only does the preview show you the queens in the workroom, and sashaying down the runway in some gag-worthy ensembles, it also features them crying, screaming and fawning over some yummy Pit Crew members as they deliver the girls some delicious beverages.
To say we are excited for Drag Race Thailand would be quite the understatement, henny. Watch the new trailer below and start planning that viewing party when Drag Race Thailand drops on WOW Presents Plus on May 4.
RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on VH1.
