RuPaul is about to go from the workroom to the playroom.
Today, World of Wonder, the production company behind RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Trixie And Katya Show announced five new original series. One of the projects is Drag Tots about, yup, you guessed it, baby drag queens.
The series is set in a grammar school and according to Billboard, the cast includes “Dina Saur, a drag tot whose aesthetic is inspired by dinosaurs; Roxy Moron, innocent, lovable and totally gullible; Arugala, a Puerto Rican provocateur with a taste for trouble; and Lady Liber ’T,’ an African American queen with “a talent for putting haters in their place.”
The kiddies will also venture out of the classroom for “dragtastic” adventures including a field trip to a wig farm. Drag Tots will be executive produced by RuPaul, World of Wonder co-founders Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey and Tom Campbell.
Another member of the Drag Race family, Jasmine Masters, will also get her own show from World of Wonder, Jasmine Masters Master Class. Since her time on Season 7 of Drag Race, the fan favorite queen has been known for her viral videos and opinionated outlook on life. In her new series she will give viewers tips on manners and etiquette and how to master life like Jasmine Masters.
In November World of Wonder announced its new streaming platform, WOW Presents Plus, a subscription-based version of its YouTube channel, the home of the popular digital series RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked.
WOW Presents Plus will not house Drag Race or the upcoming season of Untucked, but will be the home of new shows starring other former Drag Race contestants.
Season 8 winner, Bob the Drag Queen, stars with his assistant, Luis, in Bobbin’ Around, as the two film themselves traveling around the globe from gig to gig. Season 9 Miss Congeniality, Valentina, is the focus of La Vida de Valentina, while Jinkx Monsoon stars in Cool Mom and Detox is the host of Detox’s Life Rehab.
“The early success of WOW Presents Plus has been overwhelming, beating even our own subscriber targets by more than 250%,” said Barbato and Bailey in a joint statement. “The global excitement we have witnessed around the platform shows that audiences worldwide are hungry for this kind of diverse programming. Between linear television, live event programming, and a quickly growing digital footprint, World of Wonder is dedicated to to bringing multi-platform, around-the-clock entertainment to our ever growing tribe.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 3 premieres Thursday, January 25 at 8/7c on VH1.
