Dragopolis 2.0 Has Arrived!

You think you know Dragopolis? Hunty, you have no idea what's headed your way.

When World of Wonder and So Much Drama! Studios released the mobile game RuPaul’s Drag Race: Dragopolis back in 2013 it was a perfect little time-waster - an endless running game where the player-- in full drag-- has to dodge, jump, duck and barrel through various obstacles. But rather than "running in place" so to speak, Ru and her mobile app developers have upped the stakes with the far more elaborate (and fun) Dragopolis 2.0.

The game launches today for both iOS and Android devices. Fans of the original Dragopolis should have no fear as the new version includes that endless runner style of play as a "classic" option in the game's menu, but 2.0's main attraction is effectively a brand new game-- one that relies more on strategy and physics rather than eye-hand coordination and mad screen tapping.

The game contains 60 levels -- each one hosted by a cartoon version of a popular Drag Race queen -- Alaska, Jinkx Monsoon, Jujubee, Ongina, Shangela, Sharon Needles, Raven and Mimi Imfurst -- and featuring excellent voice work and catchphrases from the queens themselves. Halleloo!

Dragopolis 2.0 brings to mind Peggle and other arcade style games. In each level you have to aim a sort of cannon and predict the trajectory of the balls it shoots. Your goal in each level is to hit all the special pink crystals and collect drag outfits before you run out of balls.

As is common for games like these, the app itself is free but it does offer in app purchases so you can buy extra balls or other boosters to help you advance past a level you're stuck on.
