Drew Droege Recounts The Reagans' Rise To Power On "Drunk History": WATCH

As a fan of booze and history, Comedy Central's Drunk History is my summertime delight. The concept is simple enough: get some fun people wasted and have them recount historical events, as re-enacted by famous people — i.e. Lisa Bonet as Rosa Parks or Weird Al as Hitler. Last night's episode featured comedian Drew Droege — perhaps best known to the interwebs for impeccably channeling the spirit of Chloë Sevigny  — tells us about the rise to power of Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

Turns out Nan Reagan was the Machiavelli behind Ronnie's ascension to Republican lore all because she was accidentally blacklisted back in their acting days. A clerical error gave us the Tea Party wet dream known as the Reagan era and I think we all deserve a bottle of whiskey in light of that.
