Dylan O’Brien Is a “Maze Runner,” John Legend’s “Down Lo” For HBO, and Meet “The Fosters”

Dylan O'BrienDylan O’Brien has landed the role of Thomas in Maze Runner, about a group of teens who wake up in a maze with no idea how they got there and must figure out what happened and a way out. Our little Stiles is taking Hollywood by storm!

The FBI has released images of two Persons of Interest in the bombing of the Boston marathon, and are asking the public for help identifying the men.

If you’ve seen How To Train Your Dragon, you know the hero, Hiccup, as an awkward, scrawny teen. According to people who saw a clip of the sequel at CinemaCon, he’s grown up now, and become a “leather-tricked out hottie who sky dives off his dragon for fun.” I just hope kids don’t confuse it with the new Tom of Finland documentary.

Terry MillerIf you’ve been to a gay website this week, you’ve seen the new modeling pictures of Terry Miller, Dan Savage’s husband, in Mr. Turk swimwear. As part of the promotion, he talked about getting married finally. “Nothing’s really changed. We’ve been together 18 years, so marriage didn’t really change anything except our tax status.”

John Legend is developing a series called Down Lo for HBO which will focus on the intersection of Miami’s fashion, music and party scene, and one of the major characters will be a closeted rapper.

Meet the man who says he’s gay and saving himself for marriage. “My boyfriend and I have decided to abstain from premarital sex—including oral sex, masturbation, and even sexting…What we do know is that living by our values will only make us stronger.” Good luck with that.

Rep. Jared Polis has reintroduced the Student Non-Discrimination Act, which is modeled on Title IX to protect GLBT students from harassment in schools. It seems like I started talking about SNDA years ago, but this time the bill has bipartisan support.Joel McHale

Joel McHale says that he sees someone on Twitter say he’s gay every day. “It’s flattering. I always find it really weird when guys flip out over someone thinking they might be gay. If a guy gets offended by that, there’s something’s wrong with him. I take it as a compliment.”

Charlie Brown is to become an animated movie in 2015, which makes me sad. Charles Schultz never allowed his characters to hit the big screen while he was alive, and I fear what will happen to my beloved Peanuts without his hand to protect them.

Top WNBA draft pick Brittney Griner has come out as a lesbian. “It really wasn’t too difficult, I wouldn’t say I was hiding or anything like that. I’ve always been open about who I am and my sexuality. So, it wasn’t hard at all. If I can show that I’m out and I’m fine and Weird Scienceeverything’s OK, then hopefully the younger generation will definitely feel the same way.”

Joel Silver is going to remake Weird Science, which is completely unnecessary because Weird Science was pretty much perfect (for the era) as can be. Worse, they’re planning to make it a darker comedy, like what happened with 21 Jump Street, which I turned off after 15 minutes.

I’ve had some questionable one night stands in my life, but unlike American Pie’s Eddie Kaye Thomas, I’ve never had one pull a knife on me after and hold me hostage, necessitating a call to the police that ends with tear gas.Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks has said before that she’d love Reese Witherspoon to play her in the eventual film about her documentary In Your Dreams, but now she’s not sure. “I’ve already told [Reese] she’s almost too old. I love her, but she’s like, ’I could play your mother.’ I’m like ’O.K.'”

Scouts UK is planning on marching in London Pride and wants people to sign up to march with them. Unlike their American counterparts, UK Scouting says “Scouting is open to all young people and adults regardless of sexuality.”

Stephen Hawking isn’t afraid of the big questions. “What was God doing before the divine creation? Was he preparing hell for people who asked such questions?”

Rex LeeRex Lee says that he can’t imagine being a closeted actor, but there are some prices to fame when you’re single. “I’m just going to be very honest about this. Even though I’m not really dating anyone, and I haven’t found love, looking back on the last eight years of my life, I can say that some of the sex that I’ve had that didn’t lead to love, in hindsight, I can say, ’Wow, that person was really attracted to me because I’m on television.’ And that’s a weird piece of information to have after the fact. It makes me wonder, ’Oh, if I had known this ahead of time, would I still have gone ahead and had that sexual encounter?’ And the truth of the matter is, sometimes the answer is yes, I would have gone ahead. Sometimes I just want companionship of some kind. And sometimes sex will do. It does nicely. … I have to accept that it’s part of my life and behave accordingly.”

Painfully, this becomes more and more evident to me every day

The latest from PBS Digital is an animation of a 1996 interview of David Foster Wallace talking about his view of ambition. Wallace wrote several books that I’m immensely fond of, but I have a feeling based on this he wouldn’t be a fan of my writing.

ABC Family released the first trailer for The Fosters, about a lesbian couple who blends adoptive children with their biological son. There’s a lot of beauty here, from the open affection to them telling their foster children they are every bit as much their family as their biological son.

Durex has done something unique in creating Fundawear. Assuming this is real, and not a really intense viral campaign, it’s basically underwear for couples in a long distance relationship that allows you to activate touch in your partner’s undergarments via a companion iPhone app. You can control which part of the underwear gets the sensation, and how intense it it. While the demonstration is a straight couple, the ability to stimulate front and back on a guy makes me believe that there are some obvious gay buyers in mind.

This is a making of Fundawear in which they discuss how they built the product, how it works, and the fact that making it comfortable to wear was important. I suppose I’m wondering, would you wear it?

Hommen is an anti-gay marriage group of men in France. For some reason I can’t begin to fathom, they chose to make their protest shirtless, with slogans painted on their torsos, being forced to kneel before being gagged. There’s gay porn like this, so I’m confused about their message.

snicks showed you part of Brett Ratner’s campaign for GLAAD that has celebrities coming out of the closet for gay rights. I find it astonishing that GLAAD is choosing to give an award to Ratner for this, which he only did after being shamed into dropping out the Oscars for using a gay slur. I mean, it doesn’t really break any new ground. He just called his friends like Jackie Chan and asked them to step out of a closet and say something nice. But hey, at least Hudson Taylor looks hot in this video.

When I read the description of this clip, about 30 people making a back flip jump on skis, I thought “Big deal” . But what I didn’t realize was that they did it all at once, while holding hands.

I’m not entirely sure what invisible monsters this cat is fighting. He may have gone insane, or this could be the kitty version of SEAL Team 6, and I should barricade my home.

Opinionated. You'll love to hate me
