In the spirit of Halloween, check out this great article by TripOut Gay Travel contributor Adam H. Graham from Travel + Leisure‘s November issue. It’s all about the “World’s Eeriest Abandoned Places.”
Would you be creeped out by an abandoned skunk train? How about a deserted mental hospital in foggy, bleak Norway, where the ghosts of unfortunate lobotomized patients linger? Maybe a forlorn Mexican village that’s been ravaged by volcanoes? And there’s an abandoned cursed city in India overrun by monkeys where humans are forbidden after dark.

Maybe eeriest of all is an abandoned tugboat graveyard on – eeeeek! – Staten Island. Of course, the very idea of traveling to Staten Island is enough to strike fear in the hearts of most die-hard Manhattanites.

Check out the readers’ comments. They’ve got their own suggestions of spooked out haunts, too. Anybody wanna visit Chernobyl?
BOO!
