Ellen DeGeneres Congratulates Ellen Page On Coming Out: WATCH

When Ellen met Ellen. Ellen Page sat down with fellow power lesbian Ellen DeGeneres to open up about coming out and the original Ellen expressed her pride in the new Ellen’s decision.

“I am so proud of you for coming out, and I am so happy for you,” DeGeneres told Page. “I know what a scary thing that is. Your speech was incredible. I just thought it was the most brilliantly written speech.”

Page admits that she still gets emotional watching her speech at the Time to THRIVE conference on the welfare of LGBT youth in Las Vegas back in February. She describes the experience as the most nervous she’s been in her entire life, but it was the right time.

“I was just so ready to do it and quite frankly so excited to do it,” the Oscar nominee said before  shining the light of admiration on her host. “[I was] grateful to have that moment and grateful to you because you did it in a time when it was much harder and much scarier.”

It’s super touching you guys — almost as if one Ellen is passing the torch to another Ellen. Go on, Little Ellen, run free and then marry a super hot Aussie TV actress!

Page adds that since coming out, every aspect of her life has become easier: “I did not anticipate how happy I would feel.”
